Trustrank was born out of a need to test web sites for quality links and to combat spam linking efforts. The theory on trust rank dampening is a simple concept of separation. TrustRank's association is lost the farther you get from the trusted source. you can see in the first part of the example that web site with the TrustRank of one passes the trust directly to site number two (2) then to site number (3). Applying common sense you will see that the third site is not the one TrustRank review site; therefore they are only trusted by association. As you can imagine the farther your site is from the actual trust ranked site, the lower your Trust Rank will be. In the
